Coaching Options
Every bridge player is different. Whether you want individual attention, partnership training or a relaxed group setting — lessons can be shaped around you.
Face-to-face at your home, or online
Each lesson is tailored entirely to you — we spend our time on what will help you most, rather than following a fixed syllabus.
If you'd prefer to be part of a regular learning group, let me know — I'm happy to help bring together players of a similar standard.
Rookie or Open sessions
Learning while you're actually playing is one of the fastest ways to improve.
I can partner you at North Shore Bridge Club, providing real-time feedback as we play — explaining alternative bids, discussing lines of play and pointing out opportunities you may have missed.
By the end of the session you'll have a much clearer picture of the decisions you made, what worked well and what to focus on next.
And who knows — you might even pick up a few masterpoints along the way.
"I'd been playing bridge for years but always felt shaky on No Trump contracts. After just three one-on-one sessions, I had a framework I could actually use at the table. The improvement in my confidence was immediate."

Book a One-on-One LessonSessions just for the two of you
Having a regular partner whose company you enjoy is one of the great pleasures of bridge. We'll build a strong partnership based on trust, understanding and good communication.
A more social learning environment
If you'd prefer a social learning environment, I can often match your partnership with another pair of a similar standard.
These sessions work much like small group lessons — everyone plays hands, discusses different approaches and learns from each other's ideas, while still receiving personalised guidance.
The goal is to help both players think the same way and understand each other's decisions more consistently at the table.
"My partner and I had been playing together for two years but kept having misunderstandings in the bidding. After a few sessions we finally felt like we were on the same page. Our results at the club improved noticeably within a month."

Book Partnership CoachingGroups of four to six players
Many people learn best by playing in a relaxed, friendly environment with the same group at regular intervals.
We bid each hand together, discussing the auction whenever useful.
The declarer places their cards on the table and explains their plan before play begins.
The group offers ideas, then I demonstrate my approach and explain why.
The hand is played normally, followed by a discussion of the key lessons.
Practical skills at every level
These sessions are enjoyable, highly interactive, and one of the most effective ways to improve — everyone learns from each other's questions and ideas.
"Our group of five has been meeting fortnightly for nearly a year. It's become the highlight of our week — we're all playing noticeably better bridge, and we have a great time doing it. I can't recommend it highly enough."
